This change would allow apartments up to six storeys and 30 units on the major streets that fall within the \u201cNeighborhoods\u201d designation of the City\u2019s Official Plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you live in Toronto, we urge you to support this proposal. This type of mid-rise development incentivizes building a lot of housing quickly and without sacrificing the environment. Protecting wildlife habitat and farmland, tackling greenhouse gas emissions, levelling environmental injustice and fixing housing shortages all depend on this type of development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/s.cotsurvey.chkmkt.com\/?e=353092&amp;d=l&amp;h=90587C1A8F95C16&amp;l=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fill out the city survey here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The current\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/environmentaldefence.ca\/2022\/09\/08\/in-this-years-municipal-election-densifying-post-wwii-suburbs-is-environmental-priority-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ban on 4, 5, and 6-storey apartment buildings in residential neighborhoods, which has been in effect for decades, has been a disaster for Ontario\u2019s environment<\/a>.
