Olivia Chow\u2019s Mayoralty will represent a notable turning point in our city\u2019s history. When she takes office this Wednesday, July 12, 2023, Olivia will become both the first person of colour in Toronto\u2019s history, and first woman occupant of the Mayor&#8217;s chair since amalgamation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It speaks incredibly well of our city that the top two choices of Torontonians in this most recent by-election were both immigrant women of humble roots.
